Meet our Caretakers at La Bastide des Lavandieres - Wendy & Andre Andrieu
                             
                              Hi / Bonjour,
We would like to introduce ourselves and let you know a little bit about us. Andre is French and was raised not too far from Cannaules . In fact he completed his  national service in Nimes  which is just down the road. He left France 20 odd years ago for the bright lights of Leicester and driving HGV Lorries. That’s where he met me .

I’m Wendy (English) but born in Germany and I've lived all over the world . Its strange but Andre has actually spent more time in England that I have. Anyway, we met 4 years ago and have been married just a year in July (2011).

Andre brought me to the South of France on our honeymoon, and I fell in love, we both did.(with France I mean).

Between us we have 5 children and soon to be 5 grandchildren oh! and Charlie our little parrot. We speak English, French & a smattering of German and Spanish. Charlie just says baby and kiss! We are trying to teach him Bonjour but I’m afraid its taking a long time .

The plan after we got married was to make arrangements and move over here in 5 years. then after a very cold English winter it was decided to move ASAP. Not being fluent in French I browsed the Internet, and saw that La Bastide des Lavandieres needed a couple to caretake this beautiful building . We applied (well you would wouldn’t you?) To cut a long story short we were successful!

As soon as we saw the place we knew we had made the correct move . We have been here since the start of May 2011 and we just love it! As I am sure you will too .
